So I just added to my motivation with a planned vacation for me and my family in April, going to visit my parents in Naples Florida then driving up to Disney for a week. So that means I’m going to be on a beach in April, so I need to be at my goal or even better lower.

So that brings me to a question, I set my goal at a weight I felt I could get to, but it’s not my ideal weight! I would be happy at 165 but really should be closer to 150 based on my height! So should I reset my goal weight?

And when do I tell my 3 teenagers that they aren’t coming and I’m only taking the 5 year old. Ha Ha, :rotfl: I’m sure their going to love the idea of being home alone. They are 19, 18.and 17. Just typing that makes me feel old..

hey tom...
personally, i'd hold my goal where it is for now... you can always adjust it as you get close to it, but the more attainable goals are, the easier the battle is ... but this is what works for me

Thanks Tim, it's not often NY's help out guys from Boston!

My sales team works out of my NY office and we've gotten past the Yankee Redsox issues. I guess they need to be nice to me they setup the sales appointments and I go close them. They only get paid if I sign up their prospects so they have to be nice....

Nice plans cabana boy and if you want to really feel old, try announcing the ages of my soon to be 30 year old and 26 year old sons :-\"

I personally changed my goal 3 times with NS because I was never interested in stating in my ticker 'X number of pounds under goal' and as I was losing, knew where my body should end up. It's your choice, just know that if you do change it, NS will keep your start info but your graph will be lost (weekly progress) which never bothered me as I kept my own records, but some people want it stored with NS.

See you on the GP

Hey Tom! Sounds like a great motivator! I know if I had to go to the beach, I'd be motivated!! I wouldn't reset your goal weight until you've reached your first goal (and receive your goal bear!). Then reset it....I think you lose all your stats when you reset your goal weight, so record your first goal data elsewhere if you want to keep that record. Have great time in Florida! -Lori

Hey Tom---X-Quincy girl here---born and raised in Houghs Neck til I came to my senses and moved to FL to thaw out!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

(Saw a post of yours a few nights ago and wondered where in Quincy you were from.)

Welcome to NS and congrats to your planned vaca to "the warm place".

To be honest, I have never reached my goal weight---but the way I look at it is that I will know it when I reach it, right?? Have a good One!

Hey Laura, I grew up in Quincy Point and graduated from Quincy high in 1984. Ended up buying a house in the point by Avalon Beach!! Funny I hated living in Quincy growing up, my family moved there during the Blizzard of 78 from Braintree..

Anyway looks like we are around the same age, did you go to Quincy HS?

Tom I live in Naples!!!!!!!!! So your coming down for Spring Break! You will love the beach. I'm sure if your parents live here you've been. There are some new things though. Ask them about the water park. I'm sure your teens won't be too excited about being left behind. Oh wekk, just wanted to let you know I'm here. Big deal huh? Maybe we can get a lunch or something planned with other FL NSers while your here.

that is a big deal!!!!

we keep changing our dates but once the plan is scheduled i'll let you know! My parents bought a second home in Naples about 12 years ago, since retired and do the North to South trip mostly in the south. I've been to Naples probably about 20 times and I love it there...

We saw the new water park during construction last time we were all there..

On a side note my daughter just got excepted to Fitchburg State today! Yeah for her sad for my wallet....
