Hey turtle friends! Gotta make this quick because I'm really scrambling today. I did NOT get to use my treadmill yesterday (I was so bummed).

The reason I didn't get to use my treadmill yesterday bummed me out even more. My boss paid me a little visit last night and we had a long talk. Let's just say that there is a pretty good chance that I may either be unemployed or have to take a serious pay cut very shortly. In fact, my whole office may be out of a job. Business has just been so slow and we have been struggling for so long that this whole thing does not come as any great surprise. And I love my boss and I know he hated to even have this conversation but if we can't get some business in the door really quickly we're going to be done for. We are exploring some options as far as cutting expenses and getting new business but at this point I just don't know what my immediate future holds (but it's not looking good - all I do know is that I'm headed for some real serious trouble). To complicate matters further, our lease is up at the end of the month and the proposed addendum to extend was not what had been discussed so we may be out of an office also.

Soooo, with all the discussion/chatting going on, Jon (my boss) didn't leave my house until 11:00 p.m. (it was approx a 6.5 hour meeting). Needless to say, I never did get to try out my new TM and I was just too tired to do anything this morning. I'll definitely try that puppy out tonight though, no matter how tired I am (even if it's just a couple of minutes).

Well I'm off to scout for alternative office arrangements. Have a great day all!

Dearest sweet little turtles,

Shannon my hopes, thoughts, wishes and prayers will be with you. I am glad you are a strong woman because you have a rough road right now. Things will get better and maybe improve for the best. You could use a rest right now or more tread milling. I am available for free telepathic massages on most nights. They are one hour long so please plan accordingly.
Pat thank you for the kind words of muscles of steel. I sure wish you were right. I have tried to change things around with exercises and foods but I am going to have to do something else. At least my skin is being given a chance to shrink a little. Mel I hope your inner ear dizziness has lessened. I hope your can continue your exercises soon. Be careful. I have been doing some push-ups and sit-ups (Friday) and that is it. Hugs to you all.

I haven't failed, I've found 10,000 ways that don't work.

Good Morning, Howard, Mel & Shannon,

I've been so busy, I hate to say it but I've reverted back to not exercising much again.
Seems like when I'm not working, I'm so pooped. I've had to work three hours yesterday and again this morning. I'm getting so behind on work it isn't funny. Between keeping up with the house and the family things, I'm back to not doing much for me again.
Soon I will have to go to my dad's for a few days to give him some support with my SM.
She is quite ill and he's nursing her all by himself. A lot for a man 84 to do.

Well, today is scale day and I'm not doing that quite yet. I've been about 80 % this week on food and water, and I don't feel a difference, but the scale might tell the tale. We'll see.
I'm having to stop the NS foods after this recent shipment for three months. We are supposed to go to a wedding in August in Ca. and I've got to save every penny I can.
I haven't flown in at least 18 yrs. I'm excited to go and nervous too.

Glad to hear your skin in shrinking, Howard. I wish some of mine would do that too. Not that I've lost a huge amount, but at my age, I can definitely see the difference.
Mel, I hope all is okay on your front. Sounds like you are quite the organizer. That makes you feel like you're in control. Helps me out to clean out closets and drawers. Now the garage, well, that's coming along slowly. Bill got the storage space and has slowly cleaned things up. A lot more to do.

Shannon, my sweet Shannon. Maybe the good Lord is giving you a message, girl. Maybe it is time to find work up in this neck of the woods. Don't wait for the ship to sink. If I remember right, you don't really have a vested financial interest in the business per se, but a feeling of obligation; am I right? Just listen to your gut feeling on this one. Nobody can tell you what to do. Nobody has that right. But we are all concerned for your mental and physical health.

Well, all. I either don't show up or I write a novel! Wishing you all well. Have a great week and I'll be lurking and posting now and again!

My love to you all,

Good afternoon turtle buddies! Mel, I like your solution! Actually, the thought (of making my Boca townhouse, which still hasn't sold, into the office) had crossed my mind as well :rotfl: I hope your dizziness is getting better (I know how that is, believe me) Big Hug

Howard, I could use some of those telepathic messages right about now Big Grin I'm kind of starting to freak out a little here. You and Pat are right, though...maybe this is for the best. The whole thought of being unemployed is utterly terrifying but this too shall pass - I'm sure I'll be able to find something. Unfortunately, Pat, I think my ship has already sunk - I think even if we were to come up with a nice income-producing client today, it's probably just a little too late to save my job. But everything happens for a reason, right? So maybe I will be able to find something closer to home.

Wow, this has been a really, really horrible year and just when I think I can't take much more, I get more #*!@ dumped on me. Well it has to get better sooner or later, right?! And on the bright side, I have the best dog in the whole world and my sweet, wonderful cats (2 of whom are healthy anyway), and a nice house with a nice new treadmill (which I have been using, by the way) Big Grin . So things could be a heck of a lot worse! And maybe good things are coming.

Well it's back to work for me (while I still have a job). Have a great day everyone!

Heart Hugs

Good Evening, Turtles,

Well, I'm almost to the middle of the week. My DH and I both have colds. First time in a long time for colds.
Hope everyone is doing better.

Shannon, you might want to use some of your contacts up here for future employment. Couldn't hurt to be ahead of the game before things become desperate. I've been concerned about you. I'm sure you will make the right decision for you. It's just not easy to do sometimes.

Howard, I know you're being modest now. You can't work out as much as you do and not have a bunch of muscle under that skin!! I wish I had half the stamina you do.

Mel, how are things going with you? I hope your health issues are staying stable for now.

I'm working at home tomorrow! How great is that? I can't remember the last time I did that. Weeks.

Am going out of town on the 8th of Feb for about four or five days. My dad needs my support, so I'm taking my laptop with me and going up there to Lady Lake. Wish I could find internet access. Don't think dad will leave me long enough to find a place that has wireless. Any suggestions? I don't know where their public library is. Have to check that out if I can. I'll probably be busy while I'm up there.

So Super Bowl favorites anyone? I'm going to go with the underdogs, the Colts! I know the bears can kick their butt, but I'd like to see them win.

Well, got to go for now. Wish you all the best and stay healthy!

Great changes may not happen right away, but with effort even the difficult may become easy.

Good afternoon sweet turtles,

Yesterday was a rest day but today I will be doing some weight work and of course some push-ups and sit-ups. Pat, thank you for making me feel good about my exercises. I assure you that I need to do even more than I do or else I will be gaining weight. I am still trying to do some food switching. I hope it works. Mel, I hope you are feeling OK. Your absent on the board is missed. It is hard to feel normal when you are dizzy. I am sending you get well thoughts. Shannon, you will get by “all” your problems. Making the right decisions at the right time is important and emotional choices are the hardest of all. I send you happy thoughts. Tonight at nine, your time, and a massage will be sent your way. How is the TM working out? I bet you have a more normal movement on the TM over the elliptical that you have to straddle.
Yes, the Colts will hopefully win the super bowl. They will need our help, however. Hugs to you all.

Hello turtle buddies!

Pat, great to hear from you! I've been busy trying to drum up some business lately. Hopefully something will hit. Sorry you and DH have colds. Take care of yourselves and feel better soon. Is there a Starbucks near your dad's - they usually have wireless.

Howard, I love the quote today. I'll be cheering on the Colts for you. I absolutely love the TM. I haven't even used the eliptical lately (but I do plan on alternating between the 2 eventually - the TM is just more fun now since it's new).

Mel, we miss you. I hope all is well.

I'm working from home today and I think I am going to quit for the day soon and get on that TM. Have a great night all!!
