Ok we have one opening up today. What do you think of it and what do you buy? Planning a weekend shopping trip if I can wait that long. Big Hug

I used to go to them when I lived in CA. Compared to Trader Joe's I found them very pricey so mostly I went to TJs. But they are good for organic veges and some other more unusual grains, things you won't find in your average supermarket. Worth a visit.

It's a market, primarily health foods and organic veges.

Morning Bridg :)

Our wild oats is called "Henry's Marketplace" (Wild Oats bought them out years ago, but kept the name) and I love it there - I shop both Henry's and TJs. Henry's is where I go for all my bulk (oatmeals, coucous, flours, sugars, bran, sea salt, trail mix, etc) and they have an incredible deli and meat counter. They also have their own breads that are really good. I get most of my produce there - they have wonderful organic and locally grown and it's CHEAP. I wish I could say that about the rest of the store - besides the produce and the bulk (which are great!) it's pretty pricey, so I shop TJs for the rest :)

They have a great health and beauty section and it's all natural - I get my burt's bees products there, too!

I don't know about all wild oats, but ours has double coupon Wednesday where they double their own and all other stores coupons :) They have a great website, too. http://www.wildoats.com - it has all their current specials, events and some really good recipes.

If someone would create a store that was a combination of Trader Joes, Wild Oats, (and throw a few staples from Albertson's - foil, fabreeze, laundry soap, etc) it'd be the perfect store, and I'd no longer have to go to THREE markets every week. LOL.

Big Hug Have a great time at the store!
Ash

I prefer Trader Joe's & Whole Foods myself. The one and only Wild Oats we have in this area is filthy. Scared

Thanks all. We don't have TJ's here and probably won't. A Whole Foods is supposed to come in later this year. We have Fresh Market. I'm anxious to see what Wild Oats has. I don't really watch the food budget too hard as there are only 2 of us and if we want it I get it.

And, I don't sow any wild oats anymore. :rotfl:

I like Wild Oats. I used to go there on my lunch break and get salad at the salad bar. They have some very good prepared foods and a lot of organic and vegetarian stuff like whole foods. It's a good store, def worth checking out.

Where do you live Bridge?

Hi Jamie Wave I'm in Southwest FL. Gulf coast, Naples. We are getting more and more specialty stores. Pretty upscale, high end market here.

I'm really looking forward to checking it out. It will be a place where I go on the weekends as its 30 min from our house.

Alas, we have no Wild Oats, OR Trader Joes, OR Whole Foods. Just this REALLY EXPENSIVE chain of health food stores called Feel Rite. I can get many healthy things right in our local supermarket as well- but I woould sooooo love to see one of those stores here!!!! Jumpy

Hi Bridg!

Naples is very pretty. I'm glad they are getting places like Wild Oats. Don't think there are ANY trader joes' in FL. I wish there were though!

Tell me about it....TJs is the thing I miss the most about moving from CA to FL. I did 90% of my shopping at TJs and there is nothing like it here. WholeFoods and WildOats closest stores are about an hour away, not worth the drive unless I happen to be headed that way for some other reason.

I keep hoping one will open in FL someplace close enough to me to make going possible.

Oh I got out of schoolearly so went down to take a look. OMG it was so packed deputies were directing traffic. It was just as crowded inside. I did get a few things and they are a bit pricey but I think I'm gonna love it when I can finally get to see things. I couldn't even get near the bakery and it was really difficult everywhere else. I will go back but will wait awhile til the newness wears down.
