Hello citizens!!!! Sorry I am a bit late getting this going this morning- I was rushing around getting my girls off to school. Wouldja believe my oldest dd was throwing a tantrum about wearing PANTS to school???? They have "uniforms"- polo tops, and they can wear either navy blue or khaki pants, skorts, skirts, or jumpers from the uniform company. My dd hates pants for some reason- but they were all that was clean and I told her she had to wear them- and then she threw a little fit. needless to say- she wore the pants and I told her to stop the whining- but it took time none the less! ARGGGHHH! ](*,)

So- how's everyone doing this morning?? I finally went grocery shopping yesterday and now am stocked up on yogurt, veggies, fruit, etc. Woohoo!!! I also had another 100% day yesterday and another good day of exercise! Feels good. I am taking this one day at a time.

So- since I bought a lot of nice salad veggies-here's a fun question and one that will help give us some ideas. What do you put on your "favorite" salad??

Mine would have to be nice green lettuce- romaine and spring mix, chopped green onions, grape tomatoes, celery, carrots, cukes, red peppers and fat free feta cheese. My favorite dressing right now is that Newmans Own Light Ginger sesame. I also love Hidden valley ranch Fat Free! I also buy the pre-cooked cubed chicken sometimes to put on it for protein serving- yum yum!!!

Next victim.....

I'll be back later!! Big Hug

hello Sheri and FF's!

I'm early today - doing a little goofing off at work ;) Glad to hear about your 100% day - keep it going!

wow, that is one awesome salad Sheri, my salads don't look anything like that. I'm pretty boring when it comes to it, because since I'm only one person eating the food I always end up with a bunch of stuff to throw out at the end of the week and I hate that. So my salads generally consist of lettuce. that's it. then I don't have to worry about throwing stuff away at the end of the week.

If I'm out, my favorite salad is one of the ones that Chili's has - the grilled carribbean salad. It has lettuce, pineapple, manderin oranges, grilled chicken (I get it w/o the chicken, so I can't tell you how that tastes), tomatoes, and some other stuff that I can't remember right now :) there are also tortilla chips on top, but I never get those - evil...

have a great day everyone - "talk" to you later :)

Good morning Sheri and Kelly! I'm TRYING to quit futzing, but work stress is NOT helping the situation! I'm staying pretty close to 100% on food, water, and exercise, but I know the stress and lack of sleep is keeping the scale from moving in a positive way. Ah well!

My current favorite salad that I make is spinach with FF feta cheese and FF Italian dressing. If I'm out, I love Atlanta Bread Company's greek salad. It is just soooo good! I don't know why, but salad out always tastes better to me.

Hope everyone has a great Thursday! One more day until Friday and then the weekend!

Oh yes, and a quick reminder that I'll be ready to update the Futzpit with pounds lost tomorrow so everyone please report in!

Morning, ladies! Im afriad I'm like Kelly--not too many crunchy veggies in the house for salad cuz I end throwing half of them away! No Way In the OLD days, I loved cheese, egg adn bacon and of course 100% fat full 1000 island; my salads these days are a completely different component, but I must say I like them equally as well, just cuz they give me some much needed filler!

Hope you guys are having a great day! I'm a little bit off ever since my travels to Atlanta (in terms of motivatio) so I"m back to the grindstone for sure today as panic mode is finally setting in...seems that's the only way I ever really get any good stuff done? Craziness...Anyway....

I'll check back in later on!

Hello!!! Futzville residents!!! Love Big Hug

Oh so so busy in the Accounting department today! But never too busy for my friends!!

Everyone's salads sound absolutely DIVINE to me. I have to agree Cinde - salads "out" taste so much better. I think it's the freshness of the lettuce and the way they cut it. When I have time I like to really chop everything up and make it nice and tasty. OK, I discovered a new salad this week at TGIFriday's. Not exactly overly NS friendly - but extremely delicious. It's their Pecan-Crusted Chicken salad and it is wonderful. Chopped romaine lettuce with dried cranberries, mandarin oranges, chopped pecans and a chicken breast literally crusted in pecans. I'm not sure what the dressing was but it was a vinaigrette so it probably wasn't too bad. I only ate half of it so I figured I was OK. Oh and Kelly - I LOVE that same salad at Chilis - and I get the grilled chicken - very delicious - and don't use the dressing because with the pico on it who needs it??

On my salads at home....I love dried cranberries. I love the sweetness. I love iceberg and romaine lettuce. Those little grape tomatoes, green onions, cucumbers, radishes ( Love ) and a good dressing. I haven't been very good about finding low-fat or FF dressings but I try to use a vinaigrette of some kind with lots of pepper. If I have some extra calories or fat for the day I throw in a little fresh blue cheese - it's my way of cheating sometimes.

Gosh I'm going to miss you all next week!!!

We'll miss you, too, Marisha! But believe me, you'll be so busy you won't have time to give us much of a thought (other than to be thankful you're somewhere warm!).

Enjoy your trip! It's only 1 week and we'll still be here when you get back!

Good Morning everyone!

Yesterday I really futzed. :...: I have been SO good since the 2nd. I had to go to the store after school yesterday, so while I was there I thought it would be nice to get some meat and make hamburgers for DH and DS since I have been neglecting them since starting back. I got the leanest ground beef or sirloin (93/7) and made them out of that. I looked at the nutritional facts and decided to have one myself with my salad. I ended up putting cheese and Hellmans on mine and using 2 pieces of bread. I felt SO BAD after eating that. Queesy DH asked me what was wrong and I told him that I was so used to NOT having any grease, I was dying! Not only did I not go and exercise, I also ate wrong. I'll have to be sure and do extra today at the gym to "make up" for it. Sunday is DS's 2nd birthday Love and we are having BBQ sandwiches. I have been sitting on the fence about whether or not to have a BBQ salad...NOT AFTER LAST NIGHT!!! I will be taking my NS and a salad to have, but I will have a SMALL piece of cake.

Now that I have confessed...my favorite salad is iceberg and romaine mixed, topped with low fat cottage cheese, fat free shredded cheddar, low fat Ranch, bacon bits. I know the bacon bits are really a no-no, but I have to have certain things right now to make it work. I also like to mix ranch and honey mustard if I can find the reduced fat honey mustard. I'm starting to get hungry Big Grin

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!!!

Morning futzers! Wow that salad sounds awesome. I consider it a good salad if I have romaine, grape tomatoes and cucumbers on mine! I think I am going to have to start branching out so I dont get burned out on my salads!

I hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning everyone!!! Love

SHERI... I had the same problem with DD when she was young, except in reverse... she would NOT wear a dress or skirt. It was a fight every time, even at Easter when the "Easter dress" was something special.

Wave to KELLY, CINDEP, Lil LISA, MARISHA... you will be missed... Have a wonderful time Party I'll be looking forward to reading all about your trip when you return!! MON happy early BD to DS.. two, my DGD is just a few months past 2.. enjoy!!!

Lets see, my favorite salad (at home) would be..... romain hearts with a spring mix, topped with mushrooms, radish, cucumber, and celery. When in the mood, I will save my extra lunch protein, and scramble 1/4 cup egg beater, and use 1/2 oz 2 % cheese. Dressing is 1 teasp olive oil (my fat) mixed with vinegar and mrs dash garlic herb... or 1/2 tablespoon REAL blue cheese (my fat) mixed with 1 1/2 tablespoons FF italian. YUMMIE!

Have a good one!! Big Hug

Becky

Hello ladies!

I made it home safe and sound. Ok, funny story time. We were about an hour and a half away from landing in NY, and a guy gets up to use the restroom. Well 30 min later I notice he's still in there so I go and knock on the door, ask if he's ok, he says he's fine and will be out in a minute. Not a problem, I get busy serving food to the other passengers. Then 45 min later realize he's still in there, and it's time to prep for descent, so I go knock on the door again, ask if he's ok, he says yes and he'll be out in a minute. Ok, this is strange, so I go get the lead flight attendant, and we both go back there and ask him to please leave the lav and return to his seat. He says in a sheepish voice that he cannot figure out how to unlock the door. :...: So we do our little trick and open the door from the outside. He was so embarrassed, but was really nice the whole time. He should have fessed up an hour ago.

Quote:So- since I bought a lot of nice salad veggies-here's a fun question and one that will help give us some ideas. What do you put on your "favorite" salad??

I like romaine, arugala(sp?), carrots, cucumbers, red or yellow bell peppers, snap peas, and a homemade olive oil/garlic/lemon dressing. I like to mix it up all the time though, and buy new veggies at the store.

I'm going to take a short nap, then go for a run, but I'll check in later this evening.

Noah

Noah, that is tooo funny! :rotfl: They say pride comes before a fall -- but geez! I guess he just didn't want his face to be red for a long time. You must have some comfortable lavs on that plane!

:rotfl:

Hope you had a good nap and nice run. Your stories sure brighten up my day!!

Good Evening Fellow Futzers!!!

Well I just got home from work; I'm starved and ready to have my favorite salad as I type .... because I am always on the run and I hate to chop up a ton of salad veggies that I just end up throwing out because they go bad, I have finally come up with a solution!! :rotfl: Every night before going to bed I microwave a bag of frozen mixed veggies (all kinds of combinations out there folks) a little on the al dente side of done. So the next day once they are cold they are a perfect topping for my romaine/spring/iceberg mix (which I make up by the bagful enough for two days at most) add a little FF Feta and top with Newman's Light Balsamic Vinegrette mixed with FF Blue Cheese or Thousand Island to get the calorie count down and I have a super salad in zero time ....does 'does not cook' ring any bells people!!! :...: :...:

Have a great night All! Love
