Yum Carol! Great Idea!

I'm heating up dinner part #1 right now, so I may use your idea for salad/dinner #2 later!

Right now i"m calling out to Becky and others--I took the dog for a walk but it is cold and rainy :...: here so it can't count for exercise...Where did my Jan 70+ degree weather go?!? So who's up for an Indoor Challenge for the night; I need to pull out the ol' exercise video and get some exercise in.

Hello, gang!! :rotfl: :rotfl: I can get motion sickness just thinking about waves on a beach! :...: I LOVE it and so far it hasn't gotten old, if you know what I mean.

OK, I've got a question for YOU guys! Now correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't losing weight supposed to DEcrease the stress on your knees?? So how come, after losing 42 #s, my knees are now hurting---especially when going up or down stairs!!???? And, of course, I live in a two-story house and have 4 sets of stairs to climb everyday at the school & church!!! So what? I traded shortness of breath for sore knees??

On another tack.... I can't claim 100% days, not only because I can't force myself to do the E-word, but I can't get even 1/2 of my water down in this cold weather!! So it's no wonder the scale has hovered in the same two pound range since the 1st! Thud How can I get my water in, short of attaching a hose? I'm thinking about drinking some really weak tea; that's nice and warm.

Thanks for 'listening' to my whining!

Hi Celeste!

On days I just can't seem to get the water down, I do a few things:

--crystal light (either a big pitcher mixed up or indiv packets added to the bottle) expensive, but the peach tea is FAB!

--fruit20--or some othered "flavored" water; just a little bit of flavoring to me makes it seem like a "drink" and not a chore of "another glass of water down"

I've heard others use iced tea so long as it's decaf. And sometimes, I just gotta chug. Big Grin

good evening... evening posters!!

Lil LISA.... I'm game if you are... (my 60 crunches and 40 leg lifts) UGGHHH here I go, (soon as I finish this!)

Tomorrow we go pick DGS up from the Las Vegas air port!!! I am so excited.. I doubt I will sleep much tonight. I haven't seen him since July. He and DD just live to far away (NC) so, my normal computer time will probably be off for the next 12 days, but I will be popping in to say hi whenever I can.

Hi CELESTE and CAROL!! Big Hug

I don't know Celeste, do you have arthritis? I do, and my knees kill when I climb stairs, or even after just kneeling, like when I scrub the bath tub. Alieve works good for me... I hope you get to feeling better soon!!

OOO KAAYY I'm off for a few floor exercises, hot tub, and try to sleep!! YEE HAW!!

I made it home safe and sound. Ok, funny story time. We were about an hour and a half away from landing in NY, and a guy gets up to use the restroom. Well 30 min later I notice he's still in there so I go and knock on the door, ask if he's ok, he says he's fine and will be out in a minute. Not a problem, I get busy serving food to the other passengers. Then 45 min later realize he's still in there, and it's time to prep for descent, so I go knock on the door again, ask if he's ok, he says yes and he'll be out in a minute. Ok, this is strange, so I go get the lead flight attendant, and we both go back there and ask him to please leave the lav and return to his seat. He says in a sheepish voice that he cannot figure out how to unlock the door. :...: So we do our little trick and open the door from the outside. He was so embarrassed, but was really nice the whole time. He should have fessed up an hour ago.

Quote:So- since I bought a lot of nice salad veggies-here's a fun question and one that will help give us some ideas. What do you put on your "favorite" salad??

I like romaine, arugala(sp?), carrots, cucumbers, red or yellow bell peppers, snap peas, and a homemade olive oil/garlic/lemon dressing. I like to mix it up all the time though, and buy new veggies at the store.

I'm going to take a short nap, then go for a run, but I'll check in later this evening.

Noah

Noah- I HAD to reply!!! This is SOOO funny!! I cannot believe the poor guy was in there for an hour!!! On that note- I have a quick funny story (my dh will kill me for telling, but tee hee). My dh had a very large, very greasy hamburger in the Atlanta airport and ate it quickly b/c we were about to board. Well, you can guess what happened. His fast metabolism kicked in and he's in the bathroom even before everyone is finished boarding!!! Well, he comes back, sits down, and they get ready to taxi- but he's back up and telling the attendant he has an "emergency" and needs to use the bathroom again (poor guy) . Anyhow- about 5 min go bu and finally, the flight attendant does a very sweet "we NEED everyone in their seats...etc etc". So my poor dh crawls back into his seat and we start down the runway. He was holding up the flight!!!! It was really funny- I never recall a plane ever being delayed for that!!! He felt better later on- but he was so embarrased!!!

Oh so so busy in the Accounting department today! But never too busy for my friends!!

Everyone's salads sound absolutely DIVINE to me. I have to agree Cinde - salads "out" taste so much better. I think it's the freshness of the lettuce and the way they cut it. When I have time I like to really chop everything up and make it nice and tasty. OK, I discovered a new salad this week at TGIFriday's. Not exactly overly NS friendly - but extremely delicious. It's their Pecan-Crusted Chicken salad and it is wonderful. Chopped romaine lettuce with dried cranberries, mandarin oranges, chopped pecans and a chicken breast literally crusted in pecans. I'm not sure what the dressing was but it was a vinaigrette so it probably wasn't too bad. I only ate half of it so I figured I was OK. Oh and Kelly - I LOVE that same salad at Chilis - and I get the grilled chicken - very delicious - and don't use the dressing because with the pico on it who needs it??

On my salads at home....I love dried cranberries. I love the sweetness. I love iceberg and romaine lettuce. Those little grape tomatoes, green onions, cucumbers, radishes ( Love ) and a good dressing. I haven't been very good about finding low-fat or FF dressings but I try to use a vinaigrette of some kind with lots of pepper. If I have some extra calories or fat for the day I throw in a little fresh blue cheese - it's my way of cheating sometimes.

Gosh I'm going to miss you all next week!!!

Pirate

Marisha- we will miss you too- HAVE A BLAST on the high seas Pirate Girl!!!!!! Arrrghhh!!! Big Hug
